For a boy who excels in the values of the school. Presented by the Class of 1980-82. To be selected by a panel of teachers from amongst the names submitted by the Class teacher in consultation with others teaching the same class. Given to the student scoring highest marks in standard IV (interest on Rs. 10,000/-).
2nd Lt. Rishi Malhotra Memorial Scholarship
Given to a deserving student in Std V (interest on Rs. 75,000/-).
Prizes
Prizes are a way of rewarding merit and excellence. However, the question is what is merit? Prizes are also a reflection of what the school values. In order to reward what is really in keeping with the school’s value system, a fresh set of criteria has now been drawn up:
- Regular Attendance: a minimum of 80% attendance
- Good Behaviour
- Appears for all tests and examinations
Students who are given a re-test/re-exam for being absent for a particular test/examination do not quality for the academic prizes. It is not necessary that in every class prizes, whether academic or non- academic, should be awarded. If for some reason no student fulfils the conditions specified, the prize need not be awarded.
Academic Prizes
General Proficiency: for consistency in academic excellence. To a student who scores a minimum of 80% in both the first and second terminal examinations. The prize may be awarded to more than one student in a class.
Subject Prizes:
- For consistency in academic excellence in (English, Hindi, Marathi, German, Mathematics, Science and Social Studies) subject to a minimum of 75% in both terms in the languages and 80% in mathematics and the sciences. The prizes may be awarded to more than one student in a class.
- For significant improvement in languages (English, Hindi, Marathi, German) with a 20 marks increase.
- Mathematical Science and Social Studies: to a student who makes a 25 marks improvement in the subject in the second term examination over the first term.
The prizes may be awarded to more than one student in a class.
Non- Academic Prizes:
- Gentlemanly Student: to only one student in each class who is well-behaved, polite in his speech and respectful of others.
- Man for Others: to only one student in each class who is serviceable to all and spends some time every week in helping people in need.
All- Round Student
To only one boy in each class who is good in academics (minimum of 50% total on the average), participates in co-curricular activities and not necessarily only in games. The class teacher, in consultation with the other teachers teaching the Class, will prepare a list of students for this prize. The students of the Class will, then, vote for one student from this list. The results of this voting will be final.
Studiousness
To one student in each class who works hard in spite of difficult circumstances. The student need not pass the class.
Freeships
Government grants freeships to certain categories E.B.C., B.C., PTC., S.T.C. ex-service men, etc. Those entitled to these freeships should apply in the prescribed form through the School within a fortnight of the opening of school. A few details about the Concessions are given below (for more details contact the office).
FREESHIP is granted to those secondary students from Std V to X whose parents are residents of Maharashtra State for not less than 15 years and the student is not the fourth on subsequent child born after 15th August 1968 and the student has passed the last annual examination .
E.B.C.: is granted to those Secondary Section students whose parents total annual income from a single source was Rs. 15000/- or below, for the last financial year.
P.T.C. & S.T.C.: is granted to those Secondary Section Students whose any one parent is a teacher in a recognised and aided Primary / Secondary School.
S.P.C.: is granted to the Secondary Section pupils whose fathers are members of the Defence Service Personnel of the rank of Combatant, J.C.Os and N.C.Os or members of the Maharashtra State Police, deputed for service in all different operational areas of the country.
B.C.: is granted to Secondary School students who come under the categories of Scheduled Castes, Scheduled Tribes Nomadic Tribes, and Vimukta Jatis etc.
Forms and Other Conditions
All forms such as freeships / concessions etc. must be submitted at the school office by 30th June positively.
The Government requires that all other students should pay fees. However, the management provides financial assistance to really needy and deserving pupils.
Boys who fail in academics are not granted any financial assistance or freeship or concession.
Financial assistance is granted for one year only and must be renewed every year.
