Golden Jubliee Year 2010-11

Dear Alumni,  Parents and Well-wishers,

Loyola High School, Pune will be celebrating its Golden Jubilee in the year 2010-11. As a fitting memorial for this important milestone in the School's history, the Mangement with school committee has decided to build a new School hall in Honour of Fr. R. Schoch, s.j. its Founder and Visionary. The hall will be named "Fr. Schoch Hall".

Present hall has proved inconvenient and problematic as it has no permanent stage and very limited seating capacity. Hence functions like annual prize distribution have to be differed for two days. Last 20 years or so to build a new hall has been suggested but never materialised. But the important Jubilee ahead of us - alumni, parents, well-wishers, management- to put our minds and hearts together and make this need and a dream for a new school hall a reality!

The proposed hall will have a seating capacity of 1000. It will also have other facilities like badminton and table tennis courts etc....

The current cost estimates for the new hall is put up between INR 3.5 to 4.0 crores. This is surely a large amount to gather. But when we look at the rugged, fissure scarred, hill slope which was transformed into the verdant surroundings in which Loyola stands, we realize that all things are possible if we dare to dream and work together for its realization. The Hall will indeed be a fitting trbute Fr. Schoch, the visionary, who never took a "no, not possible".

You are requested to donate generously for this worthy cause and encourage others to do so. Just as others provided with facilities we enjoyed while in school let us do our part for the next generation. All donations will be acknowledged and receipts given. The names of the donors who contribute INR 1 lakh and above will be put up on a plaque. LOCAL cheques should be send the following account 'PJSS-Loyola Jubilee Hall'.

Donors sending cheques/ drafts from ABROAD should send the cheques / drafts to 'POONA JESUIT SCHOOL'S SOCIETY' (This is our foreign contribution account). Please enclose a note saying that the amount is for Fr. Schoch Hall.

All donors are requested to send in their NAME and ADDRESS along with cheque/draft as this required as per Income tax Act of India 1961.
